TWO veterinary staff from Melksham will be taking part in an obstacle race next weekend to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Lisa Walters and Jay Shellard, from Chapel Surgery on Forest Road, will be joining 24 of their colleagues from the Bath Veterinary Group in Bath’s ‘Pretty Muddy’ 5k race on 18th September.
During the race the team will have to climb over, crawl under and charge through various obstacles on a muddy 5k course. Vets, nurses, receptionists and admin staff are all taking part in the run.
HR manager Terri Wride said, “The team is taking part in this event to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK. Everybody in the team has been touched by cancer, whether through family or friends.
“I am running in the memory of my mother who sadly lost her battle with cancer 12 years ago and hope that the money we raise will go towards research that will eventually lead to preventing others having to go through a similar loss.”
