COMMUNITY Action Whitley and Shaw (CAWS) will be holding its ‘Christmas Cracker’ fundraising auction next month, to raise money for the group.
The auction will take place at the Pear Tree Inn in Whitley, from 7.30pm on Thursday 3rd December. Money raised from the auction will go towards funding CAWS’ community events in 2016.
Mince pies and mulled cider will be on offer, alongside the opportunity to bid on over 20 lots, including a meat hamper, rounds of golf, cream teas, ice skating, meals out, a brewery tour and more.
CAWS member Michelle Tattersall said, “We set up to represent residents’ views on local issues and work to help improve our local area.
“Having held a successful community barbecue in the summer we are now raising money to hold new events in 2016 and have some fantastic lots for people to come and bid on at the newly reopened Pear Tree Inn in Whitley.”
