THERE’S so much entertainment at Melksham Assembly Hall with exciting shows and live music coming up in the next few months.

On Friday 26th May, prepare to be entertained, exhilarated and rocked till you drop! The UK’s Premier Queen Tribute Show , Champions of Rock will play absolutely live, in a two-hour spectacle. Book tickets now, £22.50. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Sixties group, The Manfreds bring their Makin’ Tracks Tour 2017 to the Assembly Hall on Thursday 1st June. The group is considered to be one of the finest and most respected bands from that era.

Their numerous hits were R&B-based with an undercurrent of jazz – a very unusual but winning combination of playing style and substance.

As a result, their records have a timeless quality and, some 55 years on, The Manfreds, with original front man, Paul Jones, will be performing many of their hits, including ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, one of the most popular and instantly recognisable songs of the ‘60s, and still the biggest audience pleaser at their concerts, along with a mix of Jazz and Blues covers from their new album ‘Makin’ Tracks’

Paul Jones, with his unique harmonica sound, will be joined by Mike Hugg on keyboards, Tom McGuinness on guitar, Rob Townsend on drums, Marcus Cliffe on bass, and Simon Currie on saxophone/flute. Tickets cost £21, doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

All You Need is The Beatles – Friday 9th June. Acclaimed local tribute band All You Need Is The Beatles celebrate 50 years since the release of The Beatles’ seminal Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP with a special celebration concert.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential albums of all time, Sgt. Pepper was released on 1st June 1967 to immediate commercial and critical success, spending 27 weeks at the top of the albums chart in the UK. This fabulous two-hour show also features many of The Beatles’ greatest hits guaranteed to have the audience singing and dancing along from start to finish. Tickets cost £15/ concession £12.50. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Dolly Parton tribute act, Julia Martin brings her show ‘Dollywood to Hollywood’ to the Assembly Hall on Saturday 10th June. This acclaimed two-hour show, performed by the extremely talented and world-renowned Julia Martin, plays tribute to the musical journey from rags to riches of the undisputed queen of country music Dolly Parton.

With vocals direct from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee, mannerisms that are ‘Pure Dolly’ and a stage presence that commands the room, Julia weaves her magic and delivers a show that makes you feel that Dolly herself is in the theatre. This foot stomping, hand clapping show, captures the audience from start to finish, with Julia combining Dolly’s hit classic songs and unique one-liners into a spectacular performance. Tickets cost £18. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Also coming up this year, Brian Poole & The Tremeloes on 22nd June, Tom Stade on 6th October,  Dominic Kirwan in Concert with Lisa Stanley on Friday 20th October, A Night of Dirty Dancing on 26th October, The New Jersey Boys on 3rd November, The Quo Experience on 9th November, Big O and the Travelling Wilbury’s on 10th November, Fast Love – A Tribute to George Michael on 23rd November  and Jethro: The Bull and Bonkers Tour on Thursday 14th December.

Tickets are available from the Assembly Hall on 709887, Melksham TIC in Church Street or visit www.melkshamtown.co.uk/assemblyhall
