AFTER an enforced absence of two years, the tenth running of the Wiltshire 10 road race got under way at Melksham on Sunday 13th February.
Leading the 350 strong field home in the driving rain was Jon Cracknell of Lonely Goat RC in exactly 53 minutes, ahead of David Eagon from Bristol & West AC and Aaron Pritchard of Team Bath.
In the ladies’ race, Amy Partridge from Bristol & West AC led home in 62 minutes 28 seconds, ahead of Lucy Richens from Westbury Harriers and Emma Hines of Chippenham Harriers.
Age group awards went to: MV40 – Anthony Glover of Westbury Harriers; FV40 – Victoria Ratcliffe of Somer AC; MV50 – Jason Beavon of St Mary’s Sports Centre Running & Triathlon Club; FV50 – Jackie Rockliffe of Avon Valley Runners; MV60 – Simon Reeves of Avon Valley Runners; FV60 – Diane Hier of Avon Valley Runners.
It is hoped that the race has raised £2,000 for the young person’s charity, Youth Action Wiltshire.
