Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a house in Seend was targeted by burglars.
They say, “We attended a 999 call to a break-in at a residential property in Seend late on Wednesday night (27th May 2015).
“When officers arrived they noticed an untidy search had been made of the property, it’s not clear at this stage what was stolen. A woman, aged 77, was present at the time of the burglary. She was left shaken but not injured.
“The investigation continues and as yet, no arrests have been made. “
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson added, “We believe this as an isolated incident and want to reassure everyone living in the local community that we are investigating this thoroughly so we can quickly catch those responsible.
“Officers will be making house-to-house enquiries to speak to local residents to see if anyone has information that may assist this investigation.
“We are still establishing the exact circumstances of this incident and we would like to appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in Seend, around the time of the incident at approx 11.30pm on Wednesday, to contact us, either by calling 101 or by contacting us anonymously via Crime-stoppers on 0800 555 111.”
