MELKSHAM business owner, known as ‘The Secret Crocheter’, is organising an exciting event to celebrate World Wide Knit (and Crochet) in Public Day!
The Secret Crocheter runs crochet workshops and social crochet events from The Crochet Cabin in the town centre; and her monthly Yarn & Yap sessions usually involve 5 or 6 crafters with their crochet and a cuppa, putting the world to rights and discussing their next project.
But next month, she’s hoping for a few more crocheters and knitters to join her. Taking place on World Wide Knit in Public Day!, Saturday 11th June, in the Market Place from 10am to 3pm, The Secret Crocheter is hosting the Big Yarn & Yap!
She says, “If you’re a crafter who enjoys a good old natter whilst crafting for an hour or two, please pop down to the Market Place during the day for my first Big Yarn & Yap! Just bring along your own chair (camping chairs are great), your current WIP (work in progress), a flask of tea and a few pennies to buy some cake.
“You’ll find me, The Secret Crocheter, in the Melksham Town Council gazebos, crocheting away and nibbling on some homemade cake.
“Although this is a free event, donations are very welcome on the day and all money will go to Young Melksham; a community youth organisation serving young people of all backgrounds.”
And that’s not all! On the day, The Secret Crocheter and her team of crafters are also making a big blanket for the young people who receive support from Young Melksham.
If you’d like to create a square for the blanket either on the day, or in the comfort of your own home, please get in touch with The Secret Crocheter by email: thesecretcrocheter@yahoo.com
