YOUNG Melksham actor, Zach Green, has won himself another role, starring on stage in one of the most famous English ghost stories, The Turn of the Screw.
Nine-year old Zach, who this year was given an award for his achievements as a performer in the theatre at the Melksham Young People Awards, has also appeared in productions of Oliver Twist, where he played the lead role, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Zach’s father, Allen Green said, “This one is all the more special for Zach, as he gets to star alongside his Lacock School teaching assistant Mrs Brady, who encouraged him to get into amateur dramatics in the first place.”
The show’s synopsis says, “Set in a sprawling manor house in Bly in the first half of the 19th Century, Henry James’ classic The Turn of the Screw is one of the most famous ghost stories in the English language.
“Miss Grey is hired as governess to two orphaned siblings, Miles, 10 and 8 year old Flora. However she soon discovers a dark secret and becomes embroiled in a supernatural struggle with the ghosts of the former valet and governess. She is forced to fight for the children, despite fearing for her life and questioning her sanity.
“This haunting adaptation is not for the nervous!”
