An under-10s football team has completed three fundraising events as part of a major drive to invest in the future of football in Melksham.
The Under 10 Falcons have raised £1,381 towards Melksham Town Football Club’s ‘Project 150’, a fundraising campaign to improve facilities at the club as it marks its 150th anniversary.
As part of the club-wide effort, each team has been encouraged to contribute.
The Falcons’ fundraising efforts include a cake sale at Seend Church of England Primary School, a 10km run along the canal from Devizes to Seend and a 150km cycle challenge around King George V Playing Field, with each player completing 18 laps (21.6km).
A club representative said, “The young players themselves helped design these challenges, embracing the spirit of the campaign while enjoying every moment.
“Project 150 is about more than just fundraising, it’s about bringing the community together and investing in the future of local football. The Falcons have embodied everything this initiative stands for, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.”
