Nominations are now open for the fourth annual Young People’s Awards, which will be held on Wednesday 2nd December at the Assembly Hall.
The awards evening, organised by Young Melksham, is about celebrating the successes and achievements of the young people in the Melksham area.
Any young person under the age of 19 and living in the Melksham Community Area (Melksham, Bowerhill, Berryfield, Atworth, Broughton Gifford, Steeple Ashton, Great Hinton, Shaw, Whitley, Beanacre, Seend, Semington, Keevil, Bulkington and Poulshot) can be nominated for an award.
There are a number of categories for which a young person or team can be nominated: • Young Achiever Award • Young Carer Award • Volunteering Award • Young Leader Award • Sporting Individual Award • Sporting Team Award • Young Voice Award • School Council Award • Young Individual Arts Award • Young Team Arts Award.
Angie Rawlins, manager, Young Melksham said, “The first awards evening was held in November 2012 and proved to be a truly inspirational night.
“Since then, we have held a Young People’s Awards event each year to bring together the community and celebrate the achievements and community spirit of our young people.
“Each year sponsorship from local businesses and organisations makes the evening possible; last year we were able to provide an evening full of entertainment, inspiration and pride and we are passionate about making 2015 even better!”
