NOW that the outdoor bowls season draws to an end it’s time to think about avoiding the winter blues and heading indoors to Christie Miller Bowls Club at Bowerhill Sports centre.
Mick Over from the club said, “This is not the best indoor arena around but until the council gets its finger out and sees about a new six rink indoor bowls green we will have to make do with what we have. To this end come along learn how to bowl (round the buckets when it rains) and enjoy the skilful and very social game of bowls.
“With coaching available to all adults who would like to see how this wonderful game is played.
“Juniors coaching takes place on Saturdays between 10am to 12am. Mums and Dads if you have children over the age of seven but under 18, here is an offer you can’t help but make use of. Two hours of coaching by a qualified bowls coach costs just £2 – you won’t get cheaper child minding than this! The new coaching season starts on the 30th September at 10am. All we ask is that you’re your child is reasonably behaved and not disruptive and wears trainers to play on the carpet. All other equipment is supplied by the club.
