Throughout 2018 Melksham and District Floral Arrangement Society (MDFAS) has been busy raising funds for their chosen charity, Julia’s House Devizes.
The group says, “We held various fund raising events at our monthly meetings including cakes and plants, books and puzzles, There was also a fundraising supper at Beanacre. However, by far our biggest fundraiser was our opening evening held at Melksham Assembly Hall in October. Well over a hundred people gave support to a number of fundraising stalls and enjoyed a demonstration by leading flower arranger, Emily Bromhead.
“Julia’s House is a children’s hospice charity, dedicated to bringing comfort and care to families across Wiltshire and Dorset. At the floral society’s meeting on Tuesday, chairman Sue Spurrier presented a cheque for £1,000 to Claudia Hickin, Wiltshire community fund raiser for Julia’s House.”
