THE White Hart at Atworth is hosting its annual music festival this weekend, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Nathan and Kirsty Cortilla taking over the pub – and it’s sure to be a day to remember!
The White Hart’s charity music festival @FEST takes place on Saturday 6th July.
Nathan and Kirsty say, “@FEST is back in style with a theme of glitter and glam! You heard it, we want all of you lovely people to come head to toe in anything totally glamour, glitz and sequins. You provide the glam, we provide the glitter!
“A full day of live music, all to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice. Last year’s @FEST raised a whopping £1,349.40 and we saw over 500 of you committed people on not only one of the hottest days of the year, but amongst World Cup fever. So this year, let’s try to double it!”
There will be a barbecue, drinks, face painting, outside bar, children’s activities, popcorn, and lots more.
Announcing the musical line-up for the festival, the couple said, “Getting the party started at 2pm its the legendary Corinthian Casuals. The Corinthian Casuals are entering their thirteenth year on the road and are proud to be bringing a cool mix of sax-driven rock n roll and classic pop to the Atworth Music Festival at the White Hart.
“Next in at 3pm we have new band Mid Wife Crisis, hailing from Box, this is a band that’s not to be missed. The band are nine middle-aged dads in the grip of a mid-life crisis – join them on their mischievous musical adventure from pop to punk and cut loose to some real belters. Happy times!
“On at 4pm, this next band had us partying until late in the evening (just like their moto!) only just a few weeks ago. Yes they’re back, The Clones. They play the songs, you do the dancing.
“Bringing in the blues at 5pm, firm favourites of ours, Blues Reviewed. Composed of a number of stalwarts on the Wiltshire scene and formed five years ago, the band put their own stamp on a variety of numbers both classic and new from the likes of the Atlanta Rhythm Section to Joe Bonamassa.
“6pm brings in the heavy rock with Bath-based band Straight Shooter. A four-piece rock covers band playing a straight ahead, no-nonsense mix of Whitesnake, Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, The Who and loads more for good measure.
“We have something for you at 7pm, local band with a world wide cover, we are honoured to have Rebel Heroes – one of the most exciting Bowie tributes to recently emerge, respectfully and authentically paying homage to one of the greatest rock musicians of the modern era.
“Renown for giving a convincing edge in playing recreations of a vast repertoire of songs, Rebel Heroes cover Bowie’s entire recording career from the inimitable and iconic Space Oddity to Lazarus on Bowie’s final Blackstar album.
“Last but not least, headlining for us this year, the ultimate party dancing band, Panama! On from 8pm and dancing us through till 10pm, getting us all on our feet to celebrate a 10th year anniversary, taking us back to the 00s and bringing disco back.
“Panama are a six-piece female fronted covers band with a love of cheesy music through the decades, terrible jokes, and a damn good party. With a very eclectic mix of songs from disco and ska to rock and pop – there is something for everyone. So strap on those boogie shoes and throw some shapes with us – be they 00s club moves, flossing or a good old spot of Dad dancing!”
