YOUNG runner, Sophie Davis, joined thousands of women across the country to run the 10K Race for Life last month, raising £170 for Cancer Research UK.
Sophie who is 11 years old, ran the Swindon 10k Race for Life with her mum Shelley Davis and friend Ryan Eacott who is 12 years old.
Sophie’s mum Shelley said, “I take part in lots of charity walks and races and again I’m doing the 100k Race to the Stones in July, so I like to think Sophie is following in my footsteps. Sophie loves taking part and raising money for charity.
“She did the 5k Race for Life last year but wanted to push to the 10k this year. She was struggling at 7k but knowing she’d raised £170 for charity definitely pushed her to the finish.
“We are so proud of Sophie and we would like to give a big thank you to all the people who kindly sponsored her.”
