A PRIMARY school in Melksham has been awarded £400 from the Asda Green Token Scheme, that will be put towards funding a renovation of the school’s library.
Forest & Sandridge CE Primary School won the funds that will support an overhaul of its library to make it more up to date and a ‘cosy’ place for children to be.
A Friend of Forest & Sandridge School, Jess Davis, said, “We are thrilled to win this money and plan to put this towards the renovation currently happening of the library. At the moment the school’s library is not working as well as it could be, so it is undergoing a renovation and we plan to make it a cosy, relaxing and safe space for children to go and read books.
“We are also having an overhaul of the books to update them. We’re hoping the renovation will be completed around World Book Day.”
The Asda Green Token Scheme is part of Asda’s charity, the Asda Foundation, that invests £1million into local communities through ‘green token giving’ supporting local causes. Three amounts are available to win; £500, £400 and £300 and people can vote online or in store for the causes they would like to see win the funds.
