Staff at the Melksham branch of Coventry Building Society have awarded £500 to their Community Partner, Dorothy House Hospice Care.
Customer service assistant Natasha Wood said, “As part of the Community Partners programme each branch supports a local charity or community group through fundraising and volunteering. We have been working with Dorothy House Hospice Care; a fantastic charity that provides physical, psychological and social care to patients and their families facing terminal illness, death or bereavement.
“We have held various fundraising events including cake sales and hamper raffles raising £250, which brings our total to £1,600 since we starting working with them last year. The Hospice has also been awarded an additional £250 from our Staff Grants Scheme to pay for equipment for its community lodges. The lodges enable patients, their families and carers to remain together in a private ‘home from home’ setting and are available for short term respite care or for patients to spend the last few days of their life.
“It’s a fantastic facility that offers much needed support to families during a difficult time, and we are delighted to support them.”
