MELKSHAM Town Council say they are “absolutely delighted” to have secured £93,138.25 in funding towards the installation of the Splashpad.
This funding has been provided by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The council says, “Melksham Town Council has always been aware of the significant capital investment that the Splashpad project represents for the town and has been keen to ensure the best value for its residents, while remaining committed to enhancing the services it provides.
“The receipt of this funding not only secures the delivery of the Splashpad this summer (2019), but also enables Melksham Town Council to use existing funds to deliver much-needed additional services to the people of Melksham. This is absolutely fantastic news for the residents of Melksham who can look forward to seeing the addition of first-class recreational facilities in their town. No longer will the people of Melksham have to travel out of town to access the services that they deserve.
“Melksham Town Council is very excited that this project will be coming to fruition after much consultation and deliberation.”
Mayor of Melksham, cllr Adrienne Westbrook said, “We are thrilled to be able to announce to the people of Melksham that we have secured this funding. The level of financial backing enables us to look forward to a modern Melksham with great facilities for future generations to come. We can really begin to get a feel for this being the start of giving Melksham the facilities they deserve.”
