Author cuts the ribbon to unveil new school library

A NEW library at Bowerhill Primary School was recently opened by author Jeremy Strong, as he spent the day giving talks to each year group about his books.

Jeremy Strong is an author most known for creating books such as ‘Where’s that dog?’, ‘A very fish battle’, ‘Cartoon Kid’ and ‘Bad Pants’ and was invited to the grand opening of Bowerhill Primary School’s new library on Tuesday 13th March.

School council leader, Jemma Goulding said, “The student council took Jeremy Strong on a tour of the school to show him the school’s positive reading culture and to share how much they enjoy reading, before getting him to cut the ribbon and officially open the new library. All the children had the pleasure of listening to Jeremy Strong’s captivating performance of passages from some of his books and finding out what inspired him to become an author.

“He discussed with the children where he goes to do his best writing and how he goes about constructing a new book. The children loved meeting Jeremy and having him sign their own copies of his books and are all enthusiastic to have a go a writing their own stories!”

Aimee Watts, a member of the school council said, “Jeremy Strong gave us an inspirational talk which inspired us to read and write more; it was an amazing experience meeting the best-selling author.”

In a tweet, Jeremy Strong said, “Thanks, Bowerhill! Fab lunch, fab school, fab children, fab day!”
