THE Mighty Titans of Bowerhill have presented a cheque for over £8,500 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance – tripling their original fundraising target of £2,500.
The team of 26 fitness enthusiasts, who all train at New Era Fitness in Bowerhill, raised the money by taking part in a 24-hour workout session, which included strength training, runs, boxing, Zumba, yoga, cycling, and much more.
Group leader and owner of New Era Fitness, DJ Hussey said, “I am blown away that we have more than tripled our original target of £2,500 and raised a total of £8,590.17 for such an amazing local charity!
“We want to thank everyone out there for the immense support you’ve given us – without absolutely every single one of you out there we literally couldn’t have even dreamed of raising as much money for the vital services Wiltshire Air Ambulance provide – thank you so, so, so much.”
Including their 24-hour workout challenge, the group has organised five fundraising events, raising over £40,000 for various charities.
For next year, the Titans have set themselves the ‘2020-20’ challenge – 20 challenge events throughout 2020.
DJ said, “Plans are really coming together for our 2020 challenges; our first event will be on 29th February 2020 and will involve us walking the entire width of Wiltshire in one go from Froxfield to Dundas, entirely along the Kennet & Avon Canal. It’s going to be a huge challenge at around 50 miles non-stop!”
