MELKSHAM News asked readers on Facebook to tell us what they thought of this year’s Christmas lights display – and here’s what you had to say…

Kylie-clair Bewley, “I went to Trafalgar Square yesterday and our tree is a 100 times better!”

Christine Barber, “I’m in London but made a point of seeing Melksham lights, they’re fantastic, the turnout and the singers…well done Melksham.”

Erika Jane, “As somebody whose first time at the lights were this year. I was blown away! They were stunning! So much time and effort went into them and it shows. The fireworks were beautiful and the whole event was brilliantly organised. I feel some people are too quick to criticise and the people who organised and created the whole event don’t get enough credit!”

Lavinia Collison, “Brilliant, you volunteers are ‘The Greatest’; we are very lucky to have you.”

David Miller, “You volunteers do such a great job every year they just get better each year well done and Thank you for all your hard work.”

Jackie Perry, “The team never fail to amaze us even under the circumstances! It was a great turn out as always, Melksham is the best lit up town! Well done all involved.”

Emma Guarisco, “Our first year in Melksham and we were blown away, beautifully done, singing was amazing, lights were fab and the fireworks were fantastic. One thing that stuck out was the mayor welcoming new people. We totally felt part of a great community. Thank you to everyone that helped make it what it was.”

Sue Clarke, “Town looks amazing as always. The best for miles!”

Terry Kemish, “They get better every year. Thank you volunteers.”

Heather Thomas, “Amazing best around as usual thank you to everyone involved.”

Jennifer Tuck, “Fantastic, Melksham is the best, thank you Paul and the team you all do an amazing job and we all appreciate it so much.”

Susan Smith, “Fantastic, we are very lucky as a town to have such a dedicated team. Thank you for all your hard work.”

Kay Wakeley, “They look amazing, thanks to all the wonderful people that give their time for free to make our lovely town look amazing as always, a huge well done to all the volunteers.”

Melvin Sullivan, “Another Fantastic job from all the volunteers who work all hours doing this for our community. Thank you all.”

Judy Webb, “You can’t fail to be impressed, we have the best lights in the county thanks to Paul Weymouth and his team, just one more reason to be proud of our ever growing town, thank you to everyone involved.”

Wendy Appleford, “Wonderful, great effort thanks to all the volunteers.”

Sue Horton, “The best! You guys are amazing every year somehow you impress!”

Nigel Amor, “Oh my word, best in the West.”

Jo Gruenegan said, “Gob smackingly gorgeous!”
