Melksham Junior parkrun, for ages 4 years to 10 years, has returned after its lockdown hiatus.
The event returned for the first time this year on Sunday 18th April and will now be held every Sunday, starting at 9am.
Volunteer Sue Mortimer reports, “Children and their families were welcomed back to King George V playing field. It was really great to be back after an absence of over a year due to the Covid restrictions.
“The route now follows the new path which is 500 metres round – so its four laps for the 2K event.
“It was amazing to see so many children out and about in the sunshine. I found the smiling faces of those taking part infectious.
“There were 46 children the first week back and 57 children the second week with 20 plus volunteers helping out each time.
“The weekly event is free. For your child/children to take part you just need to register them with Junior parkrun and get a barcode, which they can bring along with them to be given a time.
“The next King George V Junior parkrun for 4 to 10 year old takes place on Sunday 2nd May. Please arrive by 8:50am in time for the warm up!”
