Blenheim House, a luxury all-inclusive care home in Melksham, has been listed as one of the top 20 care homes in the south-west region for the third consecutive year by the prestigious CareHome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards.

The care home, a part of the Berkley Care Group, has been consistently recognised as providing an exceptional standard of residential, dementia, nursing and respite care by its residents and their relatives.

Carehome.co.uk is a platform on which residents and their loved ones can give ratings and reviews to care homes for the wider public to view. Those who enter a review can provide details on their experiences with the home.

The home is among the most highly recommended on the CareHome.co.uk site. According to the site, it has a review score of 10 out of 10 based on 28 reviews from the last two years. Overall, Blenheim House Care Home has 125 reviews with an average ‘Overall Experience’ rating of 4.9 out of 5.

The home also received a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC in August 2022, demonstrating the quality care provided by the home’s staff.

Blenheim residents can enjoy the home’s bar bistro, fine-dining experiences, and beautiful landscaped gardens which all come as part of Blenheim’s all-inclusive care offering.

Commenting on the award, Clare Hodges, general manager of Blenheim House said, “We’re immensely proud to yet again be listed in the prestigious carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Group Awards.

“This award wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of the whole team working at Blenheim House. Their drive to deliver excellent care married with the modern facilities available at Blenheim is a key pillar to our service offering.

“To have their efforts recognised like this means a huge amount to everyone here, including our residents.

“Ultimately, it’s our team’s dedication, combined with our simple, all-inclusive pricing model and our tailored approach to meeting customers’ needs that sees us ranked as one of the UK’s leading care homes.”

  • Council calls on Government to rethink Melksham bypass decision

By Local Democracy Reporter Peter Davison

Someone is killed or seriously injured on a notorious stretch of the A350 roughly once every 11 weeks, a senior councillor has said, as Wiltshire Council demands the Government rethink its decision to ditch funding for the Melksham bypass. During an emergency debate at full council on Tuesday 20th October, councillors overwhelmingly backed a motion condemning the decision and demanding continued investment in the key north-south route. They also called for the more than £500,000 the council has spent developing the scheme to be refunded.

The reserved matters application covers the scale, layout, appearance, landscaping and access for the proposed development on land south of the A365 Bath Road and west of Turnpike Garage. It follows outline planning permission being granted earlier this year for the warehouse and office development, which the company says will be a major investment in the town and create hundreds of jobs.

Rob began researching the history while working with Melksham Remembers, a local history group. “It became clear that while thousands of airmen and airwomen trained and lived at RAF Melksham from its opening in 1940, its existence is rapidly fading from the community
