THE weekend of the 22nd to 23rd of April, saw Broughton Gifford’s Darrell Higgins compete in the second round of the GP Originals Championship held at Castle Combe.
Darrell was back in action on his D T R Racing T Z 350cc Yamaha, and after qualifying, he was 11th fastest in the 350cc class.
During his first race, he had a great race long dice with 2022 GP Originals 250cc champion Michael Grigson, and Darrell crossed the line in 12th place. There was some frantic action in the paddock as just before Darrell’s second race they had to change the steering damper with just minutes to go before start of the race.
Darrell repaid all the team’s hard work with another 12th place and sadly retired from his third race. Afterwards Darrell said that he was happy with these results but it was all down to Dennis Trollope and Andy Burbidge who have both worked very hard behind the scenes to make this season happen.
