Melksham Open Gardens will take place this Sunday 23rd July, in aid of The Children’s Society.
The Open Gardeners of Melksham are frantically tidying up corners, bedding up the last of the annuals and leaving the lawns to nature.
One of the organisers Lesley Windebank said, “We ladies of the Melksham committee are so grateful for their hard work and generosity in welcoming visitors to their gardens and hope that there will be many such visitors this year again. We ladies are not sitting idle though; there are new cake recipes to be practised, old favourites to be updated and many scones to be planned for our famous cream teas.”
The gardens will be open from 1pm to 6pm and tickets can be purchased in advance from the Tourist Information Centre in Church Street, or from the steps of the town hall on the day. They cost £5, children are free.
Cream teas are available from 2pm in Place Road.
Lesley added, “All the proceeds from the Open Gardens event will go to The Children’s Society to further their work amongst young people and runaways. Thank you for your support.”
