Melksham Oak students praised for A-Level and GCSE results

Students at Melksham Oak Community School have been praised for their exam results, demonstrating their ‘hard work, determination and commitment to success’.

Sixth Form students, who collected their A-Level and Post 16 results on 13th August, achieved their best results in five years, with initial reports indicating that students made above-average progress compared with national figures.

This year’s cohort achieved an overall pass rate of 99%, with 58% of grades at A* to B.

Year 11 students collected their GCSE and BTEC results the following week, on 20th August, which showed strong improvement in the number of students achieving grade 5 or above in both English and maths.

Associate Headteacher Abbie Clark congratulated the students in both year groups.

Abbie Clark said, “We are incredibly proud of the progress our students have made during their time with us.

“Our students have consistently demonstrated our core values of Respect, Ambition and Pride, striving to achieve their best while supporting one another and making a positive contribution to our school community.

“I would like to thank our dedicated staff and supportive families for the vital role they have played in these achievements. We wish all our students every success as they move on to the next stage of their education and future careers.”

Executive Headteacher David Cooper said, “I am delighted by the successes of our Year 11 students. They are a fantastic group of young people and thoroughly deserve the results they have achieved. Their strong performances will stand them in good stead for the next phase of their careers – for many as part of our sixth form, while for others we wish them every success as they move into education, employment or training elsewhere.”
