SENIOR people in Melksham are being invited to meet new people and discuss their creative interests, in a programme called Creative Conversations, being held at the Melksham library.
The new programme is a partnership between Celebrating Age Wiltshire, Melksham Town Council and Melksham Library and will run for 10 weeks, giving people a chance to come together in a small group to discuss their interests.
Organisers say, “The sessions will be facilitated by wonderful local artist, David Davies, and aim to improve mental wellbeing.
“The sessions will be held at Melksham Library and will start on Thursday 12th January and will run every week until Thursday 23rd of March (there will be no session on the 16th of February). Each session will be at 1.30pm to 3.00pm.
“David has facilitated Creative Conversations in another area and said, “All of the participants have amazing stories and background that they shared. It was heart-wrenching and warming and [there were] a few tears. An amazing level of trust built up quickly.”
“One of the group members said, “I was determined to get there, otherwise I’m not getting out at all and speak to hardly anyone.”
“Another group member said, “It has been good to give and receive support, especially telling and listening.”
“To book onto this course speak to a member of staff at Melksham Library or call them on 01225 702039.”
