YOU can now get a taste of America in Melksham as the town’s only American diner has opened.
LA Diner in the Market Place opened its doors to customers last week and offers a unique American dining experience with a wide range of options on the menu. The restaurant has been completely refurbished in a style that captures the spirit of a real American diner.
Owners Leanne and Alper Kapan have a wealth of experience in running cafes and restaurants. Popular cafe Waney Edge used to be owned by Leanne’s family and she worked there before starting her first business at just 18 years old when she opened Hungry Jacks in Avonside before owning Paxcroft Cafe.
She said, “I have grown up in Melksham so always wanted to open a restaurant here and I’m pleased it has finally happened. I left Paxcroft due to the birth of my twins and now seems like the right time to give this a real go.
“Everything we make is fresh and the cooking area is out the front so customers can see their food being cooked and the quality we use. We have only been open a short time but already we are having great feedback and customers seem to be enjoying the experience.
“We are a family business and take pride in what we do. There is a real friendly atmosphere with great service as you would expect in a real American diner and we offer something that is nowhere else in Melksham.”
The LA Diner also offers a takeaway service and all-day breakfasts. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am-6pm and telephone orders are welcome on 07927 436934.
