A BESPOKE woodland archway was unveiled at St. Mary’s School in Broughton Gifford at the end of term, decorated with woodland animals and plants the pupils had drawn.
The archway, which pupils named Wild Wood, was designed and installed by local chainsaw sculptor Andy O’Neill, funded by the school Parent Teacher Association (PTA), The Friends of St Mary’s School who have been fundraising for it throughout the year.
A Friend of the school, Charlotte Godsiffe said, “The unveiling event took place at the end of school year summer party, where we had a BBQ, a talent show called St Mary’s Got Talent where children sung, danced, roller-bladed, drummed, presented artworks, told jokes and did gymnastics performances, had family fun sports races, bouncy castles and presented the Year 6 leavers with awards.
“Both the St Mary’s School and Broughton Gifford Pre-school (which is on the same site) now have fully qualified Forest School Leaders and will be delivering Forest school sessions to children at the school and pre-school.”
