Melksham Assembly Hall is set to screen a mesmerising production of Arthur Miller’s classic American drama ‘The Crucible’ on Friday 16th January at 7.00pm.
Recorded live at the Old Vic in London during its sell out 2014 season, this searing drama stars Richard Armitage, whose film and TV credits include ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy, ‘Into the Storm’, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger and Spooks’.
The play is based on Salem’s infamous witch trials where, in a small tight-knit community, widespread hysteria is fuelled by the evils of mindless persecution and the terrifying power of false accusations generated by personal grievances, lust and superstition.
This new production is brought vividly to life by internationally acclaimed director Yaël Farber and has been the subject of enormous critical acclaim.
