USING funding from the government, Wiltshire Council says it has been working to increase passenger numbers on the Melksham Metro bus.
In Melksham, there is a new rail-link bus service which runs two services in the morning peak and three in the afternoon peak. The bus will always wait for the train if it is delayed. A new bus has also been bought for the Melksham Metro to make the service more comfortable. The timetable can be downloaded at www.connectingwiltshire.co.uk/transwilts
The council has also added a new feature to its ‘Connecting Wiltshire’ website which allows people to see live twitter updates about disruptions to services or changes to timetables. These updates are provided by participating operators including Melksham Metro with support from Wiltshire Council.
Later in the summer, the council will be running a series of free days on the Melksham Metro and will launch new bus maps for Trowbridge, Chippenham, Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham and Malmesbury. A new interactive bus map for the whole county will also be launched on the Connecting Wiltshire website.
