THE next episode of the Celebrate Melksham podcast will explore anti-social behaviour in the town.
A representative from the youth organisation 4Youth (South West) and a representative from the police will discuss the issue and what is being done in Melksham to address it, with hosts cllr Tom Price and cllr Carl Houghton.
The topic has been in the national news recently, after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced plans to crack-down on anti-social behaviour with offenders being made to wear jumpsuits or hi-vis jackets and work under supervision to clean up damage or be assigned other tasks which benefit their local area, such as litter picking or volunteering in shops.
Police and local authorities will also be granted new powers to address people deemed to be causing problems in the streets while the possession of nitrous oxide, more commonly known as laughing gas, will also be banned.
