ALLOTMENT holders will be banned from using any chemical herbicides, insecticides, pesticides or fungicides, from March next year.
The town council will write to all allotment holders to inform them that their ‘allotment agreement’ will be changed from 1st March 2021.
The ban on the use of chemicals on town council allotments, follows on from the council’s own blanket ban on the use of toxic and environmentally harmful herbicides, pesticides and insecticides on all green spaces managed by the town council, which was brought in earlier this year.
