Sunday 2nd November will be a very important day for the Benefice of Atworth with Shaw and Whitley
Dianne Briggs explains, “Our new Priest in Charge, Rev’d Shona Hoad will be licensed as Vicar at 9.30am at St Michael and All Angels, Atworth, by the Archdeacon of Wilts, the Venerable Ruth Worsley.
“We are all pleased to have a vicar again which will put the Benefice on a firm footing to plan for the future. That Sunday is a very busy day for the Benefice as, following the licensing, there will be worship at St Michael’s at 11.0am and later in the afternoon MESSY church in Shaw School from 3.00pm – 4.30pm. MESSY Church has been running in our Benefice for several years now and is enjoyed by many families. The mixture of play, music and craft, finishing with tea for all, has proved very popular.
“We welcome everyone – why not come along and give it a try – just turn up at 3.00pm at Shaw School, Corsham Road, Shaw.
“Then at 6.00pm in Christ Church, Shaw the mood changes entirely when we hold an All Souls Memorial Service. This is where we remember those who have recently died or who are in our hearts. If you would like someone remembered by name in the service, please contact Rev’d Shona Hoad on 01225 793536 or shone@ boasw.org. There is a chance to light a candle in memory of your loved ones. Please join us in this very moving service and stay for tea/coffee and home-made cake and take the opportunity to speak to Rev’d Shona.”
