Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Melksham.
At approximately 1.50am on Saturday 17th December, a 33-year-old man was assaulted by a group of people outside Peacocks, in Bank Street.
The man sustained injuries to his face and ribs and was treated at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Community Policing Investigator Eleanor Bettles said, “The victim was helped by members of the public following the assault. As well as this, there were a number of people stood outside the kebab house in Bank Street at the time, therefore there must be witnesses to the assault.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or who saw the group of people prior to, or after, the assault. You may have information which could help our investigation.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
