THE ArtHouse Café is currently displaying work by Joy Jeffries, Mike Gorringe and Christine Coutts as well as textile work by a group called ‘Materialise’.
Materialise is a group of six women who studied City and Guilds textile art at Trowbridge College. Pattie Lockett from the café and is part of the group said, “When the course was finished we missed meeting each other, so formed the group known as Materialise.
“We meet once a month, taking it in turns to host in our houses and, apart from enjoying the food provided by the hostess, we plan exhibitions, give workshops on new techniques or refresh old ones.
“Future exhibitions are discussed and planned and work produced to the theme chosen. The current show is a collection of work produced over the last few years.”
The Art House Café is situated next to Melksham Town Hall.
