Thirty people attended the Atworth over 55s’ afternoon tea. This time, the event was generously sponsored by Winston Lee of Nyquist Solutions, Atworth Business Park.
Effie Gale-Sides reports, “The theme for the day was everything springtime, and there was a splendid show of sunshine yellow attire and floral decorated hats, brightening up the hall. It was a very happy occasion with lots of lovely cakes to enjoy.
“Thank you to all who helped and to everyone who came along. The group sent a personalised greetings card to her Majesty the Queen, congratulating her on her 90th birthday.
“The next tea will be held on Wednesday 11th May 3.00pm – 4.30pm at the Atworth Institute Village Hall. If you haven’t been before, please come along. You will be made most welcome. Just call in. If you need transport, that’s no problem as a lift can easily be arranged by phoning 01225 702228.”
