The March Meeting of Atworth WI included the AGM and was well attended in spite of the freezing weather.
Before the business meeting, we had wine and nibbles while we socialised. Several members reported on events they had been to which included basket weaving, a visit to the Poppy Factory, a Sounds of the Sixties Singing workshop and visits to Wiltshire Music Centre to see screenings of The Winter’s Tale ballet and the opera Carmen.
After the Secretary had informed us of Federation events that were coming up in the next few months, we went on to the AGM. One member of the committee has resigned and a new member was nominated and appointed. The President was voted to stay on for another year.
We then formed teams of three and enjoyed a quiz, prepared by a member of the committee, while we had tea or coffee. The winning team was Lesley Braund, Mary Jose and Gillian Horrigan.
Our next meeting is on Monday 19th April at 7.30pm in the Village Institute Hall, when we will have musical entertainment by Leila and Friends. Visitors are always welcome £3.
Helen Snowball,
President.
