AUTO-LINE Service Station on Spa Road has pledged its support to two local charities.
Organised by manager Bruce Sanders, staff at the local garage have been busy raising money and awareness for local charities Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Melksham Foodbank. “We are really keen to support good local causes,” said Bruce.
Last week, the garage hosted a coffee morning, raising £500 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance by asking customers to donate to the charity when using the in-store coffee machine. “It’s a good cause and as a Melksham Rugby club supporter, I realise the importance and value of this service, attending incidents involving serious sports injuries,” explained Bruce. “It’s a local charity and it’s good to put all our efforts behind them.
“I want to thank all our customers for being so generous and supporting this fantastic cause.”
For its other charity of choice, the Melksham Foodbank, the store has become a collection point for people to donate non-perishable and in-date food to the scheme.
“At a recent Melksham Rotary Club meeting where there was an inspiring presentation from the Melksham Foodbank, I decided that we could show our support by having a collection point in our shop for the scheme,” said Bruce. “It’s surprising how many people in the Melksham community rely on this. With Christmas coming, it’s really important that people donate to this worthwhile cause.”
