Avon Bowls Club hosted the first and second rounds of the County Benevolent Triples on Wednesday 26th June.
The club reports, “Immediate past Wiltshire Ladies County President Dawn Edwards Avon B.C. was controller. 12 teams participated from the South of the County. The 4 team winners who will go through to play in the 3rd round at Bradford on Avon BC are; Wilton skipped by L Trattles, Box skipped by J Collier, Amesbury skipped by J Rowe, Alderbury skipped by M Sweetman. It was a fine, fun day with a lavish buffet lunch provided by the Captain Marcia Hartley and the Avon ladies.
“Avon ladies will play Devizes in the Top Ten on Sunday 30th June at Devizes BC.
“Teams are as follows: Singles: E Maslen, Pairs: G Newman, M Hartley, Triples: S Renshaw, J Buckland, D Edwards, Fours: S Crabbe, S Wells, J Dunn, D. Martin.
“Avon Bowls Club offers excellent opportunities for everyone to enjoy the sport, it caters for ladies and men, young and old and is ready to welcome new members throughout the season. Fully qualified club coaches are ready to offer training and advice to all of us, including existing members but especially for newcomers, to ensure that they get the best possible introduction to the game.
“The Bowls Club is situated in the grounds of Melksham House. Access to the grounds is just off the Town Market Place.
