A Melksham charity shop is promoting a range of special offers after being inundated with donations.
The Barnardo’s store in Verbena Court, behind the Water Meadow restaurant, recently ran out of room after receiving so many gifts over the summer.
So the charity has arranged a special sale to recycle the extra stock as quickly as possible.
Bargains include up to 50 per cent off new goods, and discounts for CDs, DVDs, baby clothes and much more.
Barnardo’s manager Helen West said,“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community and had to temporarily decline any more items due to a lack of space.
“However, our amazing volunteers have now sorted and cleared the backlog, so that we’re able to start receiving donations again.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding, and we hope this special sale will create some extra room while providing lots of bargains for local shoppers.”
The sale includes CDs and DVDs priced at three for a pound, baby gros at three for a pound, clothes with slight imperfections at five for a pound, and end-of-season summer clothes at reduced prices.
The store is also offering up to 50 per cent off new goods including handbags, hairbrushes, flip-flops and beauty products.
A tombola and lucky dip are available, as well as the usual variety of hardbacks, paperbacks, children’s toys and games. A new collection of Christmas cards has also been introduced.
The Barnardo’s store is open Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm and on Sundays from 10am-4pm, and always welcomes offers of help from potential volunteers. Call (01225) 436806.
Last year the charity supported around 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers through more than a thousand services across the UK. Visit www.barnardos .org.uk
