The 56th Broughton Gifford Bowls Club AGM was well attended at the clubhouse on the 2nd November with 39 members present.
Club Chairman, Mr Steve Hockings, opened proceedings, welcoming all those in attendance. A warm welcome was extended to the six new members who joined the club this year. Appreciation and thanks were attributed to the ladies and gents who arranged and supplied teas and suppers when home games were played and to those who volunteered their free time, helping out with the club’s green and clubhouse maintenance, and also with fund raising activities.
Club Captain, Vince Davis, and Ladies’ Captain, Sylvia Davis, reported respectively that 2017 was another successful season and thanked the members for their support. Gratitude and appreciation was also accorded to members of the committee for their input and endeavour throughout the season.
Men’s Wilts League captain, Dave Alford, commented on a good playing performance with a respectable 5th place finish in the final league placings.
Ladies’ Nor-West League Captain, Gwenda Kelley, reported that all the lady members played league bowls on a regular basis and this new approach contributed to a winning formula and a successful season.
