BLENHEIM House Care Home in Melksham has launched a virtual arts exhibition and their work will soon be travelling across the town in a series of shop window displays.
As part of their ‘life enrichment’ programme, residents of the home took part in watercolour classes over the year and continued to practise throughout the lockdown period, honing their skills and producing over 30 paintings.
Activities manager, Chris Guest, is excited by the project saying, “As part of the arts in care homes initiative we wanted to show off the creative talents of our residents.
“Our online gallery is a fantastic opportunity to show the community that our residents continue to be talented and passionate about their hobbies and that their lives are enriched by our creative classes. Some of our residents had never picked up a paintbrush and to see their work on display, not only digitally, but also in and around Melksham, is a great achievement for them, we are so proud of our artists in residence here at Blenheim House Care Home!
“If you would like to visit the online gallery simply follow the link provided on your smart phone, tablet or desktop, and do leave us a friendly comment on our Facebook page Blenheim House Care”
“So far, 10 businesses have signed up for the window display project which will be launched in October, If you would like your business to display an image, please contact lifestyle and communities manager Chris on events.blenheimhouse@majesticare. co.uk; https://issuu.com/blenh…/docs/ blenheim_house_care_home__4_
