Blockbuster films and Live Entertainment at Assembly Hall

MELKSHAM Assembly Hall is set to show more  blockbuster films and live entertainment.

The next cinema screenings at Assembly Hall are: Friday 13th February, 7.30pm, The Imitation Game (PG). Saturday 21st February, 10.30am, Paddington (PG). Friday 6th March, The Theory of Everything, 7.30pm (12A). Saturday 14th March, Penguins of Madagascar, 10.30am (U) and on Saturday 21st March, Night of the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, 10.30am (PG).

For all showings tickets at 10.00am are £3 for under 15s and £4 for adults. All tickets from 5.00pm are £6 each. Doors open 30 minutes before the show and there is a licensed bar, tea and coffees.

Upcoming live entertainment includes a Valentines Ball on Saturday 14th February at 7.30pm, tickets £15 each and on February 27th February live wrestling comes to Melksham Assembly Hall with tickets priced at £12 Adult, £10 Child or the extremely popular family value ticket priced at just £40.

Synopsis:

The Imitation Game (PG): Based on the real life story of legendary cryptanalyst Alan Turing, the film portrays the nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team of code-breakers at Britain’s top-secret Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II.

Paddington (PG): A young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family, who read the label around his neck (‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’) and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

The Theory of Everything (12A): The Theory of Everything gives us a glimpse of Stephen Hawking’s life. It describes his college days and his relationship with his wife Jane. It also portrays how his condition affected his relationship with Jane and how he rose above it and wrote his book ‘A brief history of time.’

Penguins of Madagascar (U): Super spy teams aren’t born…they’re hatched. Discover the secrets of the greatest and most hilarious covert birds in the global espionage biz: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private. These elitists of the elite are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind. Led by handsome and husky Agent Classified. Together, they must stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine, from destroying the world as we know it.

Night of the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (PG): At the Museum of Natural History, there’s new exhibit being unveiled. Larry Daley who manages the night exhibit because the exhibits come to life because of the Tablet of Ahkmenrah, is in charge of the presentation. But when the exhibits go wild, Larry finds himself in trouble. He learns that the Tablet is corroding so he does some research and learns that Cecil, the former museum guard was at the site when the Tablet was discovered.
