With their game on Saturday at Willand being postponed due to Storm Darragh, Melksham Town go into the busy festive period sitting in fifth place with games in hand on all the teams above them.
29 points from 16 games has Town in the play-off places with eight wins and only three defeats.
After finishing 16th last season, there has been a big upturn in fortunes after the squad was revamped over the summer with manager Mark Collier bringing in 15 new players.
“We currently sit in the play-off spots but with games coming thick and fast, we can’t be complacent,” said Mark. “League positions can change very quickly.
“Christmas is always a busy time with games every four days so it’s imperative the squad stays fit and focused.
“This Saturday we entertain Falmouth Town then travel to Cribbs prior to the Boxing Day derby at home to neighbours Westbury United.
“We made a solid start to the season and an extended run in the FA Cup has seen the team playing catch up; we still have two and three games in hand over some clubs.
“The highlights of the season so far have been the FA Cup run, beating Premier League Banbury United away and our outstanding away form with just one defeat on the road in the league.
“Our support has been another highlight; it’s grown week on week with crowds of over 500 at home. The away supporters have increased ten-fold; it’s so good to see so much yellow and black when we are so far from home.”
