On a damp wicket the visitors asked the home side to bat first, but were soon regretting the decision as the openers put on 60 for the first wicket. Richman (29) profited the most from an end of season fielding display being dropped 4 times before he finally departed in the 24th over.
Home Skipper Foley then joined Pettit and they started to up the run rate adding 75 in 13 overs before Pettit (66) departed. The visitors now seemed to wake up and Foley (41) was run out by a smart piece of fielding by the visiting skipper.
This seemed to spur the visitors into action as in the last 8 overs they picked up a further 5 wickets as the home batsmen tried to hit every ball out the ground.
Box finished on 187/8 off 45 overs with the pick of the visitors’ bowlers being Chris Singh who finished with 4 for 34.
BMCC innings got off to the usual poor start as they were reduced to 17 for 2. The innings was rebuilt by a 77 run partnership between Ed Skippings (32) and Ben Brown (54) leaving the game evenly poised with BMCC on 103/4 with 16 overs left. The innings was given a real boost by Dean Wallington who smashed 39 in just 35 balls before departing. He was supported by Chris Singh, who for not the first time this season saw his side home with 25* as the visitors reached their target with 9 balls to spare. Pick of the home bowlers was J.Pegler who finished with 5 for 33
