The Bowls’ Big Weekend is due to take place at Broughton Gifford Bowls Club this month.
Everybody is welcome to attend the open day sessions and try out the game of bowls free-of-charge.
“We would welcome newcomers and returning bowlers alike,” says member of the club, Mervyn Davies. “Our ladies and gentlemen members will be on hand to offer advice and answer any questions which may arise.”
Broughton Gifford Bowls Club is among 814 clubs affiliated to Bowls England which have registered to host the Bowls’ Big Weekend, which taking place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May.
Bowls’ Big Weekend is an annual national event designed to introduce more people to the sport of bowls.
“If you would like some fun and learn something new and be part of a team, Broughton Gifford Bowls Club is definitely worth a try,” says Mervyn.
“There are bowls in the clubhouse to use and all equipment is provided. All that is required is flat-soled footwear to protect the surface of the green.
“We are situated in an idyllic and picturesque setting behind the Bell on the Common public house. It is a traditional kind of pub with a wooden floor, beamed ceiling and log fire, and well worth a visit.”
