A local bowls club is inviting the community to an open afternoon, giving everyone a chance to try the game and meet members.
Broughton Gifford Bowls Club will open its green on Saturday 11th April at 2pm.
Club member Mervyn Davies said, “Families, newcomers, beginners and experienced players can be assured of a warm and friendly reception.
“Our members will be on hand to offer guidance and advice on how to get started. Bowls are available in the clubhouse to try and all equipment will be provided. All that is required is flat-soled footwear. Age is no barrier – bowls is easy to learn.
“The club would like to recruit new members to help meet the demands of a busy season of women’s, men’s and mixed games. We are actively seeking new members to join us for afternoon, evening and weekend matches.
“If you enjoy sport, meeting people and making new friends, the bowls club is a good place to start. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and friendship, which we believe is second to none. Many new and enduring friendships have begun here at the club.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and give the game a try. There will be free tea, coffee and refreshments in the clubhouse.
“The club is located behind the Bell on the Common public house, where there is plenty of free car parking. Do please open the gate and come in to meet our friendly ladies and gents.”
