BLOCKBUSTER films and all the usual fun and games at regular club meetings are on the agenda for Melksham Seniors.
Next week, the Seniors’ monthly film club will be showing Disney’s ‘Coco’ on Monday 20th August intending to bring together grandparents and grandchildren over the summer holidays.
Despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colourful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. It will be a fun one for all the family.
It will encourage grandparents, who may be childminding during the school holidays, to bring their grandchildren along to enjoy a film. Mums and dads are also welcome to bring along their children, if of school age. The film will be shown at Melksham Assembly Hall at 1.30pm.
In keeping with the theme of the film, children are invited to get into the party spirit by dressing up in fancy dress or as clowns, in reference to Coco the clown.

As well as the monthly film, Melksham Seniors have a Monday club at the Forest Community Centre at 1.30pm and a regular Thursday activity and social club, at the Riverside from 10.30am to 12.15pm.
The Seniors are also planning a Thames river cruise trip for Tuesday 11th September. Departing from the Market Place, day-trippers will travel to Marlow to enjoy a leisurely cruise on the River Thames to Henley on Thames – with time to explore both locations.
