Melksham Amateur Swimming Club’s Tilly Birkett came away from the ASA South West Regional Championships last month with a Personal Best time of 33.20 in the 50m Backstroke, winning her heat and also a 3rd place finish in the Finals.
Tilly, who also swims for Team Bath AS, only just made it into the championships with a consideration time so she was not expecting to win her heat let alone make the finals,
Tilly’s dad Mark Birkett said, “Coming away with a Bronze medal was amazing and would not be possible without the hard work she puts in every day and the dedication, enthusiasm and help from the coaches from both clubs.”
