THE White Hart at Atworth is hosting live music and the monthly ‘Village get Together’ in the coming weeks for all the community to get involved with.
On Good Friday, 19th April, the pub welcomes Burlington Underground to perform. The band say, “We are a band with a cocktail of soul, funk, pop, with a pinch of rock armed with the spirit of the beat generation.
“We have built a reputation over the last two years as one of the best cover bands in the local area with added originality and a mixture of high octane soul, funk, pop and rock that will get you up and dancing.”
The band will be performing from 9pm to 11.30pm.
On Sunday 28th April, for the pub’s monthly ‘Village Get Together’, the White Hart will be screening Disney blockbuster, Mary Poppins Returns.
The film’s synopsis says, “Now an adult with three children, bank teller Michael Banks learns that his house will be repossessed in five days unless he can pay back a loan.
“His only hope is to find a missing certificate that shows proof of valuable shares that his father left him years earlier. Just as all seems lost, Michael and his sister receive the surprise of a lifetime when Mary Poppins – the beloved nanny from their childhood – arrives to save the day and take the Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure.”
The film will be screened at 5pm. Organisers say, “Popcorn will be available! Make sure you come early to grab yourself a front-row seat!”
