THE café in Melksham Community Campus is now open to the public for the first time since the leisure facility opened last August.
Wiltshire Council said the café never opened because they were unable to secure a suitable occupier in their usual tendering process on two separate occasions. The authority said it then changed the process, to search for a more local occupier.
The new café is being operated by FW Catering and will open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 8am to 4pm.
Wayne from FW Catering Ltd, said, “We are delighted to confirm that FW Catering Ltd will be operating the café at Melksham Campus. We are serving drinks and cold food only, with a hot food menu coming soon.”
Cabinet member for leisure and facilities management at Wiltshire Council, cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, said, “We want to extend a warm welcome to the team from FW Catering Ltd and we look forward to seeing lots of people using this facility when they visit the campus.”
